A full-bodied Pinotage made from low yield bush vines from the fertile slopes of Groenland. Generous notes of Mulberry and Blackberry, with a hint of Vanilla. Gentle spiciness and velvety tannins.

This wine was made from handpicked grapes from 20 year old Pinotage bush vines on the fertile slopes of Groenland. It is a full-bodied Pinotage with generous notes of Mulberry and Blackberry and a hint of Vanilla on the nose. Gentle lingering spiciness and velvety tannins.

Climate

Mediterranean - The summers are hot and dry with cold, wet winters. Supplementary irrigation during summer.

Soil:

Well-drained gravel soils.

Serving suggestion:

Grilled or roasted meats like lamb, beef, and duck, hearty stews and BBQ dishes, as well as spicy food like Cape Malay curry. Also pairs well with rich chocolate desserts and charcuterie platters.

Wine can also be collected directly at the Vault at Lourensford Estate in Somerset West. Wines may be traded online without them leaving the vault. Wine is stored at R10 per month per case.

This wine was made from specially selected grapes of old bush vines planted in 1981. Matured for 10 months in new Hungarian and 2nd fill French ook 500L barrels. The Ou Bosstok Steen offers sweet stone fruit aromas of white peaches, apricots, ginger and orange blossom. A rich, mineral and well-balanced wine with a long, smooth finish.
